Jason Shapiro Named Top Gun for Past Ten Years
For the 10th year in a row, our Managing Partner, Jason A. Shapiro, has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America, in partnership with US News & World Report, for providing superior legal representation and the highest level of client/customer service. This distinction is based upon an exhaustive evaluation of attorney peers and jurists. Lawyers are not required or allowed to pay a fee to be listed, as inclusion by Best Lawyers must be earned, and it is considered a singular honor to be included in “the most respected referral list of attorneys in practice.”
Last year, Jason was doubly honored as the Attorney of the Year. This year, Jason is only one of two lawyers in the entire state of Maryland who have been recognized by Best Lawyers in his primary practice area. Additionally, Jason is the only attorney in Howard County, Maryland who has been so honored.
Since 1994, after Jason spent four years serving his community as a prosecutor, followed by three years honing his craft as a criminal defense attorney in a local law firm, Jason has sought to execute his duties as an attorney differently from most lawyers and law firms. While recognizing that each client is a unique individual each deserving of the highest level of client/customer service, Jason has also sought to tirelessly work seeking the best outcome possible for each client on each case. Additionally, Jason has given back to the local community both professionally and personally by volunteering as a teacher in the Howard County Police Academy, guest speaker at various occasions for the Howard County Public Schools, serving on charitable boards, coaching athletics, and the like. He has been honored by the state governmental and legal community by being asked to Chair the Judicial Nominating Commission for Howard County (2007-2015), to serve as President of the Maryland Criminal Defense Attorneys’ Association (2010-2011), and to be the keynote speaker before the Court of Appeals at the swearing-in ceremony of new admittees to the Maryland Bar. However, all awards and honors pale in comparison to assisting his clients in overcoming their legal predicament and helping them turn their lives around!
