For the 12th year in a row, our Founder and Managing Partner, Jason A. Shapiro, has been named by US News & World Report as one of America’s Best Lawyers! Jason’s recognition is a significant honor, because the recipients of this award are determined by conducting an exhaustive peer review survey amongst the area’s attorneys and judges. Lawyers are not permitted to pay any fee for recognition – this distinction must be earned!
To illustrate the distinct rarity of this honor, only two attorneys in the entire Baltimore metropolitan area have been named as America’s Best Attorney’s in the field of DUI/DWI Defense, with Jason named as one of them! In 2016, Jason was also named by this publication as “Lawyer of the Year.”
Jason credits his success to having excellent mentors during his formative years in two different State’s Attorneys’ Offices; for cultivating relationships with judges who have given him feedback and constructive criticism throughout his years of trying cases; for having a wonderful support staff; and for his firm’s fellow attorneys, David Zwanetz and Justin Lake, who offer their ideas, support and intellect, which sharpens the skills of not just Jason but of all of the SZL attorneys!
